You can earn Grass Points in three different ways:

  • When you download and use Grass

  • When you successfully refer someone

  • When the people you refer invite others

In the Grass app, the number of points you accumulate depends on the actions mentioned above and the size of your referral network. Let’s dive deeper into each level of point accumulation.

Grass Usage Points

The simplest and most straightforward way to start collecting Grass Points is to download the Grass app and connect to our network. While you go about your daily tasks, Grass utilizes your unused bandwidth. (Need a refresher on the technical terms we use? Check out our Grass Glossary.) 

Our app tracks your contributions and rewards you with Grass Points for sharing the bandwidth you’ve paid for but aren’t using. 

This is a great way to start collecting points, but if you want to boost your point accumulation, it’s time to refer your friends, family, and neighbors.

Grass Invitation Points

Know any friends, colleagues, neighbors, or family members who want to make the most of their idle bandwidth? Refer them to the Grass network. If they sign up using your Grass referral code, you’ll permanently earn 20% of the points they accumulate. Don’t worry—your referrals still get all their points. You’ll simply earn additional points based on what they earn. This means for every 100 points your friend earns, you automatically get 20 points, no hassle required! (And your friend keeps their full 100 points.)

The best part? There’s no limit to the number of people you can invite. Each new user you bring to the Grass network becomes a continuous source of Grass Points for your account as long as they keep using Grass. 

One more thing: when each friend you refer reaches 100 hours of active time, they’ll receive a 5,000-point bonus, and you’ll get 2,500 Grass Points. 

Secondary Grass Points

Referring your mail carrier, barber, and Aunt Carol to the Grass network isn’t the end of your point accumulation. If Aunt Carol recruits new Grass users from her knitting club, not only will she earn referral bonuses, but you’ll benefit too. (Go, Aunt Carol!)

When someone you invited to the Grass network shares their own referral link with others, you’ll automatically earn 10% of all Grass Points generated by those secondary contacts.

For example, let’s say Aunt Carol invites her 10 knitting buddies to join Grass, and they each earn 100 Grass Points per month. That means you’ll earn an extra 100 points each month without lifting a finger. The beauty of this system is that your network can extend beyond people you directly reach.

Tertiary Grass Points

Your Grass Points accumulation doesn’t stop at “Aunt Carol’s knitting club.” There’s one more level to skyrocket your points. When members of the secondary level in your network (Aunt Carol’s knitting club) share their Grass referral code with new users, you’ll automatically earn 5% of the points those tertiary users generate as long as they continue using Grass.

Think of it as your referral family tree, extending to three generations. You may not even know these third-generation people, but they’ll still earn you Grass Points, helping you score big. 

The Power of Grass Referrals

You’ve likely realized how powerful referrals are in rapidly increasing the number of Grass Points you collect. But to make it even clearer, let’s look at the compounding effect of inviting a few close friends to join the Grass network.

Suppose you invite five friends to join the Grass app. Once they connect to the network, they start earning points. In addition to their total points, you’ll earn a 20% bonus based on their points. 

If each secondary referral invites five more people, your network expands to 25 people. As they accumulate points, you’ll earn an additional 10% bonus based on those points. If each secondary referral refers five more new friends to your network, your network expands to 125 people. You’ll earn a 5% bonus based on the points accumulated by tertiary referrals (who keep all the points they earn).
